Erik & Marguerite Greyvenstein

Erik & Marguerite are newlyweds. They both serve with Youth With A Mission in South Africa. Marguerite has served with School of the Bible for years. She and Julia Sepulveda pioneered an SOTB in Durban, S. Africa. Erik has a ministry with a swim team. They are in the process of melding their ministries together.

What are you most excited to see God doing in your ministry?
God is opening doors in almost all the schools (white and black) here in Bethlehem South Africa through Erik's swimming ministry. We are being invited into the schools to work with the youth and hope to do camps with them also in the future. YWAM Bethlehem has looked for ways to get into the schools for a long time and this is a real answer to prayer. Teaching a child to swim can bring hope and dignity, especially in the developing communities and it opens a way to minister to young people from any community.

How can we effectively pray for you?
1. Pray for more relationships in the community
2. Pray for God's strategy for the swimming programs and for the young people to have prepared hearts
3. Pray for us to grow together in God's call on us as a couple as we experience each other's ministries and help each other respectively.

It is a fun way for kids to relate to each other, be discipled in the word, and develop a firm foundation for their lives.

What are you most excited to see God doing in your ministry?
I’m most excited about the new CCI association that is forming in Kenya and the network that is forming in Albania. I am also excited about the growth of Christian camping in Southern India.

How can we effectively pray for you?
1. Please pray for CCI-Philippines, CCI-Romania and CCI-Poland. All of these associations are facing difficult leadership transitions.

Young Life Tyler, Garrick Bailey

Garrick is the director for Young Life Tyler (YLT). YLT is an outreach specifically designed for high school and middle school students. Garrick and other volunteers spend time with students for the purpose of developing relationships. This gives them the opportunity to disciple them, and encourage them to follow the Lord. For some students, it gives them an open door to share the gospel.

What are you most excited to see God doing in your ministry?
I am excited to see God beginning to grow the ministry - not because of volunteer leader efforts, but because of the vision He's given high school kids to be a part of something bigger than themselves. We believe God is opening the doors to begin Wyldlife (middle school ministry) in the next 6 months!

How can we effectively pray for you?
As always...pray for resources. We need to pray people into Leadership teams, the adult committee (which we call Bommittee...a mix between board/committee), and into our donor base. We're also praying for the financial provision for an additional full-time staff member...and eventually a permanent home for offices & Club or at least a better Club location.

Rebecca Sorge

Rebecca is serving with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) here in the Tyler area. CEF is a ministry specifically designed to share the gospel with children through summer Bible clubs, Good News clubs in schools, and other avenues.

What are you most excited to see God doing in your ministry?
I am excited to see how God has grown the ministry in the last year. We currently have 11 Good News Clubs. 2 years ago we had 5! The Lord is burdening the hearts of His people to go into all the world and preach the gospel…I am thankful that includes the children in our own community. He is raising an awareness of the need to reach the children.

How can we effectively pray for you?
1. Pray that I will be an encouragement to the many volunteers God has placed in the ministry.
2. Pray for the children who attend these clubs. Pray the gospel would be presented clearly, that the children who are Christians would be challenged to grow in their faith. Pray especially for the 5th graders who will be leaving GNC this year.
3. Pray that God will give me an awareness of distractions that could hinder the ministry
4. Update - God has opened doors to churches and organizations who would be interested in outreach to children in the community through 5-Day Club summer outreach and/or After-School Good News Club Outreach. Pray for continued direction to churches who will help.
5. Pray that I can press on to diligently to complete the work the Lord has given me.
6. Pray for the local chapter financially stability - giving is down.

We have a weekly Bible study with 6 students who have all come to know Him in the past few years. They are actively participating and growing. Frisbee golf continues to be an arena to meet & cultivate friendships with people. Camaraderie has formed among the college students; graduating students try to get a job in the area so they can stay around their friends. We have participated in counseling students using scripture and prayer, and we have had many opportunities to receive training as well.

How can we effectively pray for you?

1. Ask that God would motivate the young believers to regularly spend time in the word on their own and catch God’s vision for their lives.

2. William is teaching 3 classes of college freshmen. Pray for wisdom in which of the 90 students we should spend time with.

3. This June 1st we will be hosting 12 college students from the U.S. for 6 weeks who are coming to cultivate relationships with our countries college students. It is exciting to learn and understand more each day that God is all we need. He provides for all our needs; both spiritual and physically. We are also excited about being ambassaders for Christ as we continue to share our faith daily with unbelivers we come in contact with - both here in the states and abroad.

1. We need to stay focused on Jesus - especially in these days with so much conflict in the world around us.
2. Samantha's pregnancy to go well from now to her delivery date in July.

This ministry has numerous facets including such areas as: pregnancy testing, educational resources, adoption help, facilities for pregnant girls to live temporarily, and aftercare followup once the baby is delivered.

What are you most excited to see God doing in your ministry?
We are seeing new doors of hope open for moms and children. We have found favor from a local judge which has given us, as the church, more opportunity to provide forever homes for abused and neglected children. This has expanded our ministry care beyond the womb. We have new houseparents at Fatherheart who are doing a great job! Their love for God is overflowing into the girls lives and we are seeing a high lever of "God Awareness" in the girls who live here. They are sensitive to the Lord's presence and are responding! Our newest progam is called "School of New Beginning" which is an evening discipleship program for the girls. It has been ministering deeply into the lives of our young moms by preparing them for a future as they prepare to give birth to their babies.

David & Judy Payne

David & Judy have served with Wycliffe for many years. They spend most of their time time overseeing the project "One Story" which is an oral translation of Bible stories to unreached people groups. In addition they are helping to complete the Scripture translation for the Ashenika people in Peru which was their first assignment.

Through the integrated school services, we have the opportunity to revitalise the hope of many youth, who in the past have not had the opportunity to go to school due to poverty. Through the ministry God is calling both old and young men and women to serve in his vineyard, and we are thankful for Bethel's partnership.

4. That we will always have the opportunity to preach and teach the Gospel.
5. That we may one day be a self-supporting ministry and begin to support the efforts of other churches in our area.

There are many things to be thankful for. One thing in particular that I am excited about is to have a new staff member on my team who is actually from an Arab country in the Middle East.
